Wedding Photographer Rutland: My Best Romantic Images in Rutland

As a documentary wedding photographer, Rutland is my stomping ground. It’s surprisingly diverse in its offerings for weddings and has some wonderfully romantic spots to rival anywhere else in the country (dare I even say, the world!). Here are my 12 best romantic wedding images taken in and around Rutland, featuring my consistently fun, reliably awesome couples!

  1. Fun florals

Through my eyes as a wedding photographer, Rutland will always deliver on that romantic photo opportunity; sometimes, it’s about thinking outside the box and capturing moments you wouldn’t ordinarily look for. This shot of A&T was taken between their local celebrant wedding and their trip to the pub. The sun really came through to light this fun couple with their distinctive style, framed by abundant florals on the streets of Rutland!

2. Golden Hour

For me as a wedding photographer Rutland really comes to life during the golden hour. Everybody loves a sunset shot, but we aren’t always blessed with the right conditions. For D&M’s postponed wedding, the loved-up pair were drenched in gorgeous light - the perfect end to a very sweet day! This was the first sunset we’d had for a good while, so we took a moment to relax and enjoy the light to produce this.

3. Vibrant Veil

This beautiful couple got married in the local areas of Exton and Oakham, and the wedding was planned remotely by the bride down to the last detail! She had thought of everything, and it really shows in these two romantic images from the day. L&L’s wedding was a joy to shoot because of their total faith in the way I work, and I think it shows!

The artistic veil shot is always a winner - this looks like something out of a fairytale, all thanks to a little ‘throw and go’!

4. Truck-y Love

There are a surprising amount of lorries passing through Rutland, and this shot just works perfectly for A&T’s unique style and fun perspective on life! My photography style is very natural, which allows us to have fun capturing shots as they come along - or as they zoom past!

5. Classic Confetti

9. Fairy Lights

Who doesn’t love a string of fairy lights, twinkling as we lose the sun? This shot of A&T was taken at their evening reception; playing with light in different ways always makes for fun and romantic shots!

10. Hands

As your wedding photographer Rutland is my playground, and I love to get up close and personal - focussing on how the two of you are close, in love and just married. This doesn’t always have to be you two smooching. Hands tell a story too.

11. Under My Umbrella

No rain, no gain…! K&C’s wedding wasn’t spoiled by the weather; they just grabbed these cool umbrellas and strolled around Rutland Water with me, and the images look really atmospheric! Who’d have thought it - romantic rain!

12. Oh, Baby

The next romantic image on my list is gorgeous G&J holding up their baby scan on their wedding day - can I get a collective ‘aww’ please!?

13. Gone With The Wind

“Love is like the wind. You can't see it, but you can feel it." (Nicholas Sparks). And boy did we feel the love (and wind!) at A&D's wedding at Barnsdale Lodge, Rutland. The wind made for some romance and a sense of movement.
