An Oakham Registry Office Wedding; Marriage Is A Beach

My first wedding of the year was a small, super relaxed Oakham registry office wedding.

A lovely light, bright space, the venue hosted Hannah, Tom and their nearest and dearest for an intimate ceremony. I loved capturing this easy-going couple in our local area, and we even managed to bring a touch of the exotic to Rutland!

The wedding party made a perfect picture at the Oakham registry office wedding, with the bride dazzling in pretty lace, the groom and his boys kitted out in smart-casual grey, and the bridesmaids blushing in baby pink!

Tom & Hannah’s original plan was to get married in Mauritius, and by now we all know why that didn’t happen! However, they were determined to make their day just beachy nonetheless. After their Oakham registry office wedding, we headed down to Rutland Water. If you haven’t been, you might be surprised to know there is in fact a bona fide beach right here in the middle of the country! Its water is surrounded by rugged, rocky areas and some inviting sandy spots, just like your favourite holiday destination.

Rutland Water didn’t disappoint, with the reservoir as still as I’ve ever seen it and the sunlight sparkling on it all. Hannah & Tom had a romantic picnic by the calm waters, and playfully wrote ‘Rutland’ in the sand below a crossed-out ‘Mauritius’. We wandered around the reservoir and captured some great images of the newlyweds, and they popped champagne and laughed with their closest friends and family.

It was such a lovely, relaxed day all-round and I love capturing chilled-out local weddings like this one!
