Edbaston Park Hotel Wedding: Saad & Fatima

Saad and Fatima had their wedding at Horton Grange which is at Edgbaston Park hotel in Birmingham. On the university of Birmingham campus, there is a charming redbrick building where you can get married. The grounds around are picturesque too, so there is no shortage of pretty photo opportunities if you have an Edgbaston Park Hotel wedding.

I first met Saad and Fatima when I photographed Saad’s brother's wedding in September. You can see that boho gloriousness over here as it was featured in Rock my Wedding. was over the moon when Saad chose me to photograph his wedding. Saad had been so impressed with his Brother’s photos that he entrusted me to do the same for him and his fiance Fatima. In fact, Saad said: "We chose you because you did such a tremendous job at my brother's wedding and we also were so impressed in your photography style. Very relaxed, adaptable and raw. Just how we would like it!"

This was music to my ears as Saad described my style to a 'T'. I was also looking forward to seeing all the family and friends again as when I was with them last time they really let their personalities shine in photos. I knew it would be easy to photography them naturally, at the wedding. No pomp and fair, just love and laughter. Without fail, this is exactly what happened at Saad & Fatima’s Edgbaston Park Hotel wedding.

The wedding.

Saad & Fatima planned an elegant civil wedding to celebrate with their absolute closest friends and family - ‘low key’ just how they like it. Before the wedding day, Saad & Fatima had mentioned some of the most important moments of the day would be capturing Saad’s reaction to seeing Fatima look stunning in her dress and the page boy & flower girls walking down their aisle and as a surprise. Later, Saad had also informed me that as a surprise, he had booked a string quartet for Fatima. Fatima spent most of the day with one ear on the wedding and another ear on the music…at moments throughout the day she’d be asking Saad if they were playing the songs she could recognise. These whispering moments brought such smiles to their faces that I didn’t need to do much at all when it came to capturing them as a couple. So well done here Saad!

Advice for planning your wedding at Edgbaston Park Hotel.

As mentioned, the grounds are beautiful and well worth an exploration. If you're marrying here, allow time for not only the both of you to wander around to get photos but, time for your guests too. The staff are brilliant too. You'll have a ‘go to’ for the day who will help organise and run the day seamlessly. For Saad & Fatima, this was Ashley. I have to give him a personal shout out. He was a superstar and I had to thank him personally before I left. If you are reading this Ashley, thank you once again and I hope we get to work together again someday.
