When I first met Steve and Sarah, who live locally to me, they were a little camera shy. We did a pre-wedding shoot together which helped them feel so much more comfortable with me in front of the camera, and my day spent with them doing their Stoke Rochford Hall wedding photography was a joy from start to finish! Due to the restrictions in place in 2020, Sarah and Steve decided to split their wedding, with an intimate celebration with 15 family members as their priority. It was important that Sarah’s grandad was able to attend the wedding, so they powered through despite changing restrictions and a few touch-and-go moments! When they are able, this wonderful couple will have a party and dance, drink and laugh all night - and I can’t wait to capture it when they do.
Details of the day
I loved doing this Stoke Rochford Hall wedding photography as the venue is local to me, and has lots of beautiful heritage features and gorgeous grounds which make for perfect photo opportunities! The ceremony room is a light, bright orangery, and after getting ready with her family in the morning Sarah joined Steve there for their vows. It was an emotional ceremony despite the masks, with the couple on the verge of tears when seeing one another and Sarah crying moved tears at the readings. The ceremony was even live-streamed via the marvel of Zoom so more family members could join the special day!
The whole day was very family-oriented, and Steve and the Dads made speeches during the wedding breakfast that had Sarah in tears again! There was a PowerPoint playing with pictures of Steve and Sarah growing up and their time together, and their first dance was watched lovingly by their closest family members. They even threw in a twirl!
We captured photographs in the gorgeous grounds of the Hall on their perfect cloudy autumn day, with the rusty carpets of fallen leaves and majestic evergreen shrubbery framing the couple and their venue immaculately. Everything about Steve, Sarah and their families was warm, welcoming and friendly. I felt really looked after by them and the venue, and can’t wait to see them again to capture the second part of their wedding!
