A Stylish Stamford Marquee Wedding

Elizabeth and Martin’s Stamford marquee wedding was super fun to photograph for so many reasons: their love story is, quite frankly, adorable for one! They chose to construct their marquee at their home, which added to the touching and sentimental nature of the day, and their appreciation for aesthetics and style meant the whole day was a joy to view through my lens. Working with wedding planner Amy (The W Director) on this wedding was a pleasure, and I can’t recommend enough having a great planner on board for your big day.

Planning a Stamford marquee wedding

Working with a wedding planner gives you so much more than support with organising all your suppliers and decorating your venue or marquee. When it comes to your wedding day a good planner is worth their weight in gold, seeing to all the details you shouldn’t need to worry about while you’re getting ready and excited! Throughout the day you’ll find they swiftly and discreetly deal with any hiccups that might arise, and they’ll work with your other suppliers (including me!) to make sure we can all do the jobs you’ve hired us for to the best of our ability. When it comes to planning a marquee wedding at the family home, a wedding planner is particularly important to help you get the best out of your blank canvas and oversee the complex logistics. Nailing your timeline is key too, and your planner will help you get this right to achieve the pace and style of day you want. Best friends wed in Stamford

OK, now I’ve finished gushing about the merits of wedding planners…let’s get into gorgeous Elizabeth and Martin’s wedding. They have a super-soft love story which I adore, involving the meeting of eyes across a crowded school playground, a wonderful foundation of friendship and a beautiful blended family. These two really are best friends, and the most important part of the day to them was saying their vows to one another.

From a floral-filled church to a stylish marquee wedding in Stamford

They chose to have their celebrations at home because it’s the first place they lived together, and also the location of their proposal. It’s even named in homage to their love - Lymed House, with the letters standing for ‘love you more every day’...the romance, people! After their ceremony in Stamford, we headed to their beautifully constructed Peacock and Bow marquee, styled exquisitely. It was a real English country garden aesthetic, reminiscent of a lazy summer day…relaxed, elegant and chic with cool greys, vintage rose gold and an abundance of frothy blush pink florals.

When asked for their best golden nugget of wedding planning advice, Elizabeth said they couldn’t have pulled off their Stamford marquee wedding without a wedding planner. Although they planned the day themselves, they hired Amy 6 weeks out to assist with final prep and then ensure the day itself ran smoothly, and it worked perfectly for them.
