Save the Date Magazine feature: Childhood sweethearts at Haarlem Mill
This was my first visit to Haarlem Mill and I was itching to see what Abby, the events manager, had pulled together. It all started one day when I was flicking through Instagram Stories and came across Abby showing a copy of ‘The Scarecrows’ Wedding’, a children’s story by Julia Donaldson. She mentioned in her story how she would love to bring the book to life. I messaged her immediately to say I would love to supply the photographs if she wanted to pull a styled shoot together. So she did. It was only a few weeks after I realised she was the events manager at Haarlem Mill! Haarlem Mill is a unique wedding venue in Derbyshire. It’s a well-styled ex-cotton Mill spread over two floors. An awesome place to have a stylish, intimate wedding. I was lucky enough to work again with Two Eight One Styling, Red Robin Cakery, Wild Calligraphy and I finally got to meet Bex (one half of the ‘Nottingham Model Couple’) in real life who I knew through mutual Instagram friends. I love how social media can bring people together! What I was most excited about were the Alpacas and the stunning veil handmade by Emma of Elu Designs. I met Emma nearly two years ago as a fellow Rutland & Stamford wedding supplier at a wedding fayre. She was one of the first suppliers I contacted when Abby was trying to figure out how to include the feathers featured in the Scarecrows' wedding story. Immediately I thought of Emma’s feathered veil which I had seen at the wedding fayre when we met.
The whole shoot was featured in the fabulous ‘Save the Date’ wedding inspiration online magazine. Click on the link to see even more photos, in the meantime, here are some of my favourite photos!
