Festival Brides Feature: Colourful boho wedding at The Old Cow Shed, Leicestershire

I totally have this thing with colour. I love it and I think weddings should be full of colour more than likely because I feel colour is synonymous with happiness. This colourful boho wedding styled shoot that I co-ordinated was to show how colour could be incorporated into your boho wedding day. It was one of my favourite styled shoots to plan and one that took almost a year before I photographed it. Pesky lockdowns stifling my creativity! It took place at The Old Cow Shed, a newly renovated wedding venue in Leicestershire. The grounds there, the well-lit barn, the festoon-lit patio - all of it is just dreamy. It also has plenty of accommodation on site. I honestly think if I married again, this would be at the top of my list of places.

For this colourful boho wedding-styled shoot, I took advantage of the Old Cow shed barn to create an intimate wedding. Not only was the focus on how to incorporate colour into a boho wedding but to also work with a celebrant and showcase a ‘Unity Candle Ceremony’ which we did seated, to enhance the cosy, intimate vibe. After the ‘ceremony’ we played with colourful smoke bombs, and had fun with a colourful pillow fight in the yurts on-site before coming back to the barn for a reception styled with colourful pillows, throws, cake and grazing boards.

Intimate weddings don’t need to skimp on decor, flowers or food and boho doesn’t need to be macrame and floral crowns. When I pull a styled shoot together it’s not to show you more of the same, but to show you how else it could be. How unique your wedding day could be and more often than not, how colourful your wedding day could be. I say a lot more over on the blog so do go check it out. You can also see I got to work with some amazing suppliers such as Two Hummingbirds stylists, Flower Fairy & Bridal Serendipity for that ultimate Shikoba boho dress.

The whole shoot was featured in the fabulous ‘Festival Brides’ wedding blog. Click on the link below to see even more photos, in the meantime, here is a FILM of the shoot shot and edited by me!
