Stamford Arts Centre Wedding
Buckets of confetti, mulled wine and wedding reception in the unique Stamford Arts Centre.
What a way to have a winter wedding in Stamford, Lincolnshire! This wedding was totally dreamy to second shoot, and on my doorstep. Early February, both Aimee and Rory opted for a local wedding in their picturesque market town. It’s never quiet in Stamford and quite a bit of a tourist hot spot. If you do marry in here, it’s worth considering available parking. I knew the day would involve a few locations, which were all within walking distance from each other, so had my husband drop me off with my kit.
Getting ready
I started at Stamford Arts Centre before walking to Meadow View, a local kitsch guest house in Stamford, where Aimee and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Rory was getting ready at a traditional pub called the Bull and Swan. As all were within walking distance of each other, we were able to capture both bridal and groom prep together before splitting up and deciding for me to stay with the boys and capture the guest arrival. There were a lot of guests and we didn’t want to miss anything!
Stamford Town Hall wedding ceremony
The ceremony took place at Stamford Town Hall. We were in a large grand room that had a balcony, this was super handy for me to get various viewpoints of the ceremony while Jo captured the ‘I do's’ from the front. After the ceremony, the couple were showered with confetti and I mean SHOWERED. It practically poured – just what I like! I adore weddings with BUCKETS of confetti. After this, people raised a glass of homemade mulled wine, served by the groomsmen. These boys took their roles very seriously on the day! Guests then walked the short distance to Stamford Arts Centre.

Guests mingled in the art gallery before being seated in the ballroom of Stamford arts centre. Once over, the guests mingled some more in the art gallery where drinks flowed and the live Ska band set up in the ballroom. Aimee and Rory were not ones to go for a slow dance (how can you with a Ska band!) and so set the mood for the dance floor by going nuts. I loved this wedding as it was far from traditional. Aimee and Rory truly embraced that the day was about celebrating with friends and family. They didn’t want anything posed, they chose unique wedding venues, beautiful winter colours and Aimee even wore white cowboy boots!
Aimee & Rory’s wedding had such a fun atmosphere. Guests didn’t hold back as they mingled, they laughed, hugged and reminisced. The bridal party had been allowed to choose their own dresses, the groomsmen were entertaining and the huge amount of confetti absolutely made my day. It was a great wedding to kick-off 2020.
