A Colourful Floral Summer Wedding at Aswarby Rectory
Hannah and Jordan filled Aswarby Rectory with peach, pink and white summer flowers, dressing its fireplaces, staircase and wedding breakfast room with ranunculus, delicate bud vases and a floral arch behind the top table. It worked particularly well because Aswarby does not need to be heavily styled. Its pale walls, Georgian proportions and uncluttered rooms allowed the colour of the flowers to stand out without the wedding feeling overdecorated. I photographed the day from Hannah and Jordan getting ready separately inside the house through to champagne in the evening sun, live music and a very full dance floor.
Peach, pink and white wedding flowers
Hannah and Jordan’s wedding was a feast for the eyes, filled with exquisite details. The peach, pink, and white ranunculus flowers on the fireplace created a romantic ambience, their vibrant colours standing out beautifully. In the wedding breakfast room, a gorgeous floral arch framed the main table, adding an enchanting touch to the decor. Bud vases with delicate blooms graced each table, tying the floral theme together elegantly. Hannah’s dress, a ‘made with love’ masterpiece, featured chiffon bows on the shoulder straps, adding a graceful and romantic touch to her bridal look.
Every element, from the floral arrangements to the intricate details of Hannah’s dress, was thoughtfully planned to create a day of beauty and romance.
Getting ready at Aswarby Rectory
Hannah and Jordan’s wedding day at Aswarby Rectory started with a flurry of excitement and anticipation. Both the bride and groom got ready on-site, but in different rooms, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Laughter and happy chatter filled the air as Hannah’s bridesmaids helped her into her stunning gown, while Jordan’s groomsmen ensured his suit was just right. The separate preparations heightened the anticipation for the moment they would finally see each other to say ‘I do’.
An emotional indoor ceremony
The ceremony was emotional! As Hannah walked down the aisle, a wave of emotion swept over Jordan, and he couldn't hold back his tears. It was a touching moment that moved everyone. The vows were heartfelt, and the love between Hannah and Jordan was evident to all. The beautifully decorated room, with its vibrant floral arrangements, added to the enchanting atmosphere.
A summer garden reception
Post-ceremony, guests were treated to a delightful garden reception under the summer sun. The outdoor setting was perfect for mingling and enjoying the warm weather. Confetti took place outside the main entrance to Aswarby and group photos took place around the rear in the garden where guests mingled. Live music played and guests also enjoyed lawn games in the sun.
Speeches in the wedding breakfast room
The speeches were a blend of humour and heartfelt moments. Friends and family shared funny and embarrassing stories about the couple, filling the air with laughter. These anecdotes added a personal touch to the celebration, making it even more special. The joy and camaraderie were palpable, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The colourful flowers stood out against the white walls of Aswarby Rectory, creating a visually stunning backdrop for the festivities.
Champagne, crepes and a packed dance floor
As night fell, the celebration continued with a lively evening reception. During the golden hour, Hannah & Jordan took to the main road for photos where they popped champagne and danced in the evening sunlight. A highlight to the evening was the crepe van, which offered a variety of delicious dessert options that everyone enjoyed. The dance floor was packed, thanks to an amazing live band that kept everyone on their feet.
Planning an Aswarby Rectory wedding
Aswarby’s neutral interiors make it particularly good for colourful wedding styling. Flowers around the ceremony-room fireplace create a natural focal point without requiring a separate ceremony backdrop, while bud vases and candles are enough to bring colour into the light-filled wedding breakfast room. Hannah and Jordan carried the same peach, pink and white palette through both spaces, so the styling felt connected without every room looking identical.
Hannah and Jordan’s wedding showed how well bold summer flowers work against Aswarby Rectory’s simple Georgian interiors. But the photographs are not only about the styling. They hold Jordan’s reaction as Hannah walked into the ceremony, their guests laughing through the speeches, champagne spraying across the road and a dance floor filled with the people they love.
