Bassmead Manor Barns Wedding: Everything’s Coming Up Roses!

The newest addition to the blog today is Chloe and James’ Bassmead Manor Barns wedding but, before you dive in, be warned that you’re about to be seriously inspired. This Cambridgeshire venue is an elegantly finished modern barn space, featuring all the rustic wooden beams and twinkling fairy lights you could wish for. What you’re about to see is pure prettiness, set in an idyllic Cambridgeshire countryside setting.

A rosey rustic Bassmead Manor Barns wedding

When I spoke to the couple before I shot their wedding, they told me that Chloe had always had her eye on Bassmead Manor Barns since before they even got engaged. Post Easter-egg hunt proposal in April 2020, Chloe got James on board with the beautiful wedding venue in Cambridge and the rest is history! On the day they chose sage green to enhance the natural, rustic style at their Bassmead Manor Barns wedding - the bridesmaids were glowing in sage green multi-way dresses, there was foliage and greenery in abundance and lots of rustic wooden signage. The ceremony was a dreamy, rose-filled affair with petals strewn down the aisle and a stunning moongate echoing Chloe’s bouquet by Daisy Ellen. A gorgeously decorated elegant Bassmead Manor Barns barn wedding, with lots of aesthetic details for me to capture - I was in my element! Each of their tables was named after somewhere they have travelled to in the world and their guest book was globe-themed, tying in their love of travel.

Best of friends on their Bassmead Manor Barns wedding day

It was clear to me from the beginning that Chloe & James are best friends, and we knew the moment we met via video call that we were all going to get along famously. We had so much fun on their pre-shoot bringing their fab personalities to the fore - I even had them lying on the ground at one point! They told me I made them feel at ease in front of the camera. This is why I love doing pre-shoots with all my couples because, by the time the big day comes around, we’re all comfortable with each other and the trust has been built up. This results in flippin’ awesome pictures! On their Bassmead Manor Barns wedding day, Chloe and James trusted me to take the reins on where to go for their couple shots, and this gorgeous pair look absolutely radiant in them. One of my top tips for the visual parts of your day is to ensure your photographer and videographer are well-aligned if you have both. Chat with both types of suppliers and see if their styles are similar or if they work in similar ways - this way, you’ll get epic photos and film that reflect the essence of your wedding.

P.S. Something I forgot to mention about Bassmead Manor Barns Wedding venue

They have an outdoor pizza oven for the evening reception. NOICE! There’s also a seating area near it so you can chill, eat pizza and stay warm. Before hitting the bar and back on the dancefloor.
