A Dodmoor House Wedding in the Autumn
Louise and Matt's wedding was a wedding with all the feels, bags of live singing and a banging dance floor with MOVES like Jagger.
Louise and Matt found me through a mutual friend's recommendation, and for that, I am forever grateful. Once they got in touch and I found they were local to Rutland, we decided to meet face to face at Hungry Birds in Oakham for coffee (and cake, of course, any excuse for me!) We found we had BAG'S in common - mainly teaching! They were my kinda people and we had plenty to laugh and talk about. When they told me they were planning a wedding at Dodmoor House, I was over the moon. It is a beautiful wedding venue in Northamptonshire and I had been itching to capture a wedding there. What I also loved about their plans was how the day was about them and their family and friends. It was going to be a relaxed affair with plenty of fun! Right up my street.
Getting married at Dodmoor House
Louise and Matt's wedding is a perfect example of what to do on a rainy day wedding. And what to do on a rainy wedding day? Get married of course and do very little differently. That's right! Enjoy it and get out there despite the weather. Also, did you know it's considered lucky if it rain's on your wedding day? Apparently, rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last. I was pleased to witness that the weather did not dampen anyone's spirits. The great thing about having a wedding at Dodmoor House is that there is plenty of indoor space with huge windows and easy access to the outside. There are also plenty of heaters outside in the courtyard area too - no one will feel wet and cold!
I have many many favourite photos from this wedding from start to finish. Louise and Matt trusted me wholeheartedly to deliver photos that looked great and represented them. They were up for a laugh and a snog - to quote Louise "We're both massive d***heads (IN A GOOD WAY) and bring out the best in each other." Hashtag: SWOON! Their guests too were just as fun and people let their personalities shine. There were many singers and dancers amongst the guests and the live singing did not disappoint, especially when Louise and her friends from the RYDA Rutland Show Choir sang to Matt!
