London Evening Standard: Love in London

couple kissing Camden Town Station love in london

I cannot believe its already been a little over a week since I was featured in the Evening Standard. Yes! I was over the moon to receive the email to tell me so oh so nonchalantly. So how did it happen?

Love in London

A little while ago via Instagram, an organisation called 'Love in London' contacted me and asked me if I would like to enter a competition they were running. I gave it a little research and thought it looked pretty cool and credible. They are an organisation with the aim of celebrating love in London whilst raising money for a chosen charity - this year it was for Relate. Well, I can get on board with that, so I entered!

London Love

As an ol' Londoner myself (I still consider it home, to be honest!) I had a raid through my photos to see what I could enter. And I have a lot! I searched for images that weren't just taken in London but showed London clearly in the photo. I searched through my London wedding photos, London engagement photos and came up with two images to submit. I had no idea really of the prizes but as they say 'you gotta be in it to win it' and it is a goal of mine this year to enter a few photo competitions so I clicked submit.

The Evening Standard

After that was done, I totally forgot about it all. I knew the closing date would be a while away (2nd of March 2020) and so got on with life. I was really surprised to find an email in my inbox at 5.30 pm on the 14th of February to inform me that one of my submissions had been chosen to be featured in the Evening Standard. I was blown away! My work in a newspaper! That absolutely made my Valentine's day (just don't tell the hubby. He is pretty proud of his 'Happy Valentine's babe' text hahaha!)

I am super proud of this achievement! I'm still waiting to hear who wins the competition but right now...I feel like a winner! Thanks so much to Love in London too for putting forward my photo to be featured in the Evening Standard.

Love in the incredibly busy London town.
