Romantic Winter Wedding Inspiration at The Barnsdale Barns, Rutland

If you dream of a romantic winter wedding then the Barnsdale Barns in Rutland provides the perfect backdrop. Recently, I had the privilege of being part of a styled shoot inspired by Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year, Mocha Mousse, and the results were nothing short of magical. Soft, romantic candlelit vibes, a chic mini-wedding dress, and a modern yet timeless laced edge veil elevated this cosy and elegant theme. It’s no surprise that this shoot caught the eye of LOVERLY, the renowned online wedding blog, who featured our work as a source of inspiration for couples planning their big day.

The Details That Brought the Vision to Life

The shoot was all about blending the warmth of Mocha Mousse with complementary tones of pale pink and cream. Tables were dressed with these hues, accentuated by glowing mocha candles set in gold candlesticks, creating a cosy yet sophisticated ambience. The floral arrangements featured lush damask roses, classic roses, and delicate foliage, perfectly tying the romantic theme together.

For the bridal look, we showcased a chic mini-wedding dress with a playful edge for an evening look. For the wedding daytime look, a pearl embellished corset paired with a beautiful satin brocade floor-length skirt was paired with a vintage ceremony veil featuring a laced border. This combination exuded modern charm while paying homage to classic bridal elegance - an ideal choice for a winter wedding.

Capturing the Atmosphere Through Photography

The photography was a seamless mix of documentary and film-inspired styles, with the more film-like shots taken using a disposable lens and edited to enhance the 35mm film look. This nostalgic aesthetic is making a huge comeback in wedding photography, bringing a timeless, cinematic feel to the images. The natural light pouring through the huge windows at Barnsdale Barns added an ethereal glow to the portraits, making the venue’s charm undeniable.
