Barnsdale Gardens Wedding Venue: A wedding photographer’s paradise

The 1st of April was a glorious day - no April fools here. With blue skies and the sun with his hat on, there was nothing better than spending time at Barnsdale Gardens, a unique wedding venue in Rutland.

Barnsdale Gardens

I have lived in Rutland for nearly five years yet I have never visited these beautiful gardens. Its neatly tucked away by Barnsdale Lodge Hotel, not far from both Rutland Water and Exton. I had a great excuse to visit Barnsdale Gardens yesterday when I met with Steph & Nick to explore their wedding venue. Steph said the place was a photographers paradise and she wasn’t wrong! Personally, I was more taken with Steph’s smile and Nick’s super huge bear hugs! But I cannot deny that the flora and fauna were stunning. It was a lovely (and romantic) way to spend the day in Rutland. There are lots of gorgeous colourful and interesting spots here. The garden has small decorated sections with plenty of seating for you to plonk yourself in the thick of it and enjoy the peace, colours and nature.

Weddings at Barnsdale Gardens

Weddings take place in the aptly named 'Paradise Gardens'. It is actually the perfect place to have a wedding and I know the wedding here in a few weeks will be utterly gorgeous. It will be incredibly relaxed and suit Steph and Nick like a well-matched garden glove. Once wed, we will have the gardens to roam around in and eat cupcakes. Ahem, I mean, take wedding photos (then consume four different flavoured cupcakes).

After meeting the lovely Charlotte who is the wedding coordinator at the venue, the three of us lounged in the sun in the outdoor seating area at the Barnsdale Gardens tea room getting to know each other more. It was quite possibly the best Monday I have had in ages.

I can not wait to capture the wedding of Steph and Nick here at Barnsdale Gardens. See you in a few weeks guys, with everything in full bloom!
