Stylish London Elopement
A styled shoot to inspire those of you who are after an alternative wedding: an intimate stylish London elopement.
Jo & Jenny of 'The Alternatives' did it again bringing together unique suppliers to style a London elopement wedding. Back to my home town to shoot an urban elopement? Yes please! I am all about intimate elopements – that’s exactly what I did for my very own wedding. Planning a traditional wedding was leading me to pull my hair out so I (sorry, ‘we’) sacked it all off for a hot country and got wed on the beach. It was personal and romantic and the only thing I really researched for, was a good wedding photographer. If I had a little more patience, I know I could have achieved the same intimacy and romance in a London elopement. We still had a party in London to celebrate with friends when we returned, after all, London means a lot to the hubby and I. We were born there, raised there, met there and had our kids there!
Doing a styled shoot via ‘The Alternatives’ meant I got to see how exactly I, and especially you, could achieve an intimate stylish London elopement.
Preparing for your elopement in London
First off, why not get ready in an apartment that you have hired for the day? Forget hotels with their manky carpets and dark curtains. This is about being stylish and start as you mean to go on. Look up an apartment with Airbnb and go for the place you’ve got on your home décor 'Pinterest' board (we all have one…). It’s only one night, live it up baby! You’ve saved yourself from the expense of chair covers and the wedding venue corkage, so why not?
This shoot started in contemporary pad with bags of window light in the heart of Camden Town. Get your hair and make up did and…..get cosy....
London elopement details with style
Do a photo announcement with a funky letter board sign – keeping it in line with the urban vibe.
Aim for different and dapper with your London wedding fashion. Painted leather jackets, pink painted boots, a red suit with funky prints, ombre skirt with a one of a kind printed top and a colourful bouquet to bring it all together.
Alternative wedding photography in London
And then paint London town red by getting photos which ooze ‘sex and the city’. Show off how you only have eyes for each other amongst the hustle and bustle in the streets of London.
And when you’ve done that, get a chocolate ice cream waffle and enjoy each other some more.
Simple, stylish, stress free and totally sexy. A stylish elopement in London, is always a good idea.
