Barnsdale Gardens Wedding: Rutland Wedding Photography
A GLORIOUS SPRING GARDEN WEDDING IN BARNSDALE GARDENS.
I was thrilled when Steph and Nick first got in touch with me about wedding photography for their intimate garden wedding in Barnsdale Gardens, Rutland. They were planning a relaxed outdoor wedding with close friends and family, personalised vows and all-important creamy cupcakes which all sounded like the perfect wedding.
The excitement before the wedding
From the very start I was told it would be a super relaxed day, and it really was. On the big day the couple rocked up together hand in hand, ready to start their day. Steph wore a boho inspired dress from Mimetik and Nick wore a smart suit with pops of colour from a tie, pocket square and socks. Soon after, the guests arrived and everyone greeted and chatted together under the sun. It was an incredibly laid-back wedding reminding me much of my own. Personal, without pomp, matching the backdrop and the couple perfectly.
Barnsdale Gardens outdoor wedding ceremony
The wedding took place in the conservatory of the Paradise garden. The space was filled with flowers and water features and guests gathered round to get a view and enjoy the romantic legal ceremony. Steph and Nick had personal vows they wrote themselves, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the wedding ceremony they took their first steps as ‘Mr and Mrs’ with laughter and applause, and then the celebrations began.
The afternoon reception
The wedding reception took place in a marquee within the middle of the grounds at Barnsdale Gardens. The marquee had been decorated in a rustic theme. There were dainty colourful flowers in glass bottles as centrepieces, large log serving platters and hessian runners to complete the look. It was beautiful quintessential British garden wedding.
The couple mingled with the guests and enjoyed an abundance of canapes – which were delicious! And of course, no summer garden wedding would be complete without ‘Pimms o’clock.’
After the canapes had been washed down, it was time to tuck into the luscious looking cupcakes. These were a delightful treat and a big thank you very much Steph for my personal cupcake, you have come to know me well! Before long we all began to explore the peace and beauty of the gardens to take more beautiful wedding photos. A great thing about having a wedding here is that you get to explore the gardens until closing time, so we were able to take our time and enjoy the surroundings.
A glorious day – congratulations Steph and Nick. You guys pulled off a great day bursting with love in a beautiful setting. I was honoured to be a part of it. Thank you for choosing me because you love my super friendly vibe and thought I was awesome (their words, ha ha!) enough to photograph it.
