Aswarby Rectory: A country house wedding in Lincolnshire
Aswarby Rectory is a beautiful country house wedding venue in Lincolnshire. When fellow photographer Jo Greenfield asked me to second shoot alongside her for late spring wedding here, I cleared my diary, told the hubby to fly in from his work in Germany a day early and sent Jo the most enthusiastic ‘YES!’ looking GIF I could find on the internet.
Charlotte and Ryan wanted their wedding day captured from all angles and so their photographer Jo hired me to be her second pair of eyes that day. That’s what’s called ‘second shooting’ in the game. A lot of us wedding photographers do this in the world of wedding photography. We build a network of contacts and call on each other when more you guys want more coverage of the day. We’re just colleagues working together to help tell your wedding story. Memories matter right?!
A very big house in the country
Aswarby Rectory is an easy drive from Rutland. As I drove up, convinced I was lost, I saw the gorgeous Georgian country house peeking through the trees behind the grazing horses. The building, the windows, the framing trees and land…I was so looking forward to photograph a picturesque wedding. It is no wonder this is such a popular wedding venue in Lincolnshire. It’s an absolute treasure hidden away waiting to be found. I felt all Jane Austen.
Charlotte and Ryan’s wedding did not disappoint. It is hardly surprising to find out a few weeks ago that this wedding ended up being featured in ‘Save the Date’ East Midlands wedding mag. It was an elegantly dressed wedding. Rustic details, candle light and pretty fresh florals – classic romance and simplicity to just let the wedding shine for itself and set the scene for guests to relax in.
I couldn’t believe it when I found out that the wedding had been planned in around six months. I was super impressed with what Charlotte and Ryan had pulled together. Just take a look….
I had an amazing time co-shooting this wedding at the glorious setting of Aswarby Rectory. I am still in love with this gallery and think I will be for a long time to come. Thanks for having me Jo, Charlotte & Ryan! It was such a treat to be able to capture all the pretty details you have in place for your wedding.
