I AM GINA

Welcome to my world.

It’s only fair you get to know a little about me, the fun wedding photographer, as I am going to be finding out about you, the fun wedded couple to be, and stepping into your lives with your family and friends. I may be seeing you get ready, I may see your family get super red noses from blubbing when they see you and I *might* even see you kiss, whatever happens, I will be with you all day. Let’s try and click, before I click, right?

Welcome to my world.

Yep, still Gina here, (I’m also known as G, Gina G, G-Unit & Mummy – you can choose any, but Mummy may be ever so slightly weird!) and I’m a fun and relaxed wedding photographer in the quiet English town of Uppingham in Rutland. I’m originally from North East London so know it fairly well and am often back and forth between Rutland and London for socialising, shopping and photography.
I live in a fairly normal house with my far from normal (don’t tell him!) husband and two very loud children. I have an incredibly inquisitive boy and a real chatterbox of a girl (have no idea where she gets that from?!) My son totally blows me away with his curiosity and intelligence and my daughter definitely cracks us all up as the resident family clown. Her giggle is infectious. I could not live without any of these people here – they are my absolute favourites and I am not saying that because I have too. They are my world and we are a tight knit bunch.

More about me, the friendly wedding photographer…

Wedding photography only became a full time business until recently. Before that I was a primary school Deputy Headteacher in Essex! I was incredibly dedicated to this profession and gave it my all but when my kids came along….my life totally changed, as it does. Photographing my children from birth practically every moment in the day pretty much re-ignited the passion for photography I had had from when I was a child. I was asked to take photos of families and children and just knew that I loved photographing people, especially happy people! And now capturing wedding photography that is natural and wedding photography that is relaxed is my full time job and I love it.

What drew me specifically to wedding photography is quite simply because I am a hopeless romantic. Weddings are such roller coasters of emotion and it’s a total honour to be invited in and hang around the main stars all day and documenting the tears and laughter. And of course, weddings are usually in abundance of…. CAKE. Cake is soooo delicious. Now I just wanna put out there that I am not a fan of fruit cake, but I will eat it, because… well, it’s cake. I’d skip a meal and replace it with a slice. Easy, peasey, lemon drizzle pleasey.

My wedding photography style is natural and vibrant. I capture all the funny and romantic wedding moments, and let you get on with having a wicked day. I’m very observant and I feel I read people really well. I shoot with two eyes open and a smile. For me the bit I love the most about a wedding day is the getting ready for the day, because I love the build up, the nerves, the laughs and it’s the best part because it’s often when you realise how unobtrusively I work and you get used to me being there for the day.

6 things facts about G-Unit who is all about fun wedding photography:

♥  I always start a list with the things I have already done so that I can cross them off immediately.
♥  I am an explorer. I have traveled quite a bit and believe life is about experiencing things, not having things. *disclaimer – no bungee jumping should be experienced.
♥  I love to sing & dance – I’m either listening to Kiss or I’m listening to Smooth Radio. No in-between.
♥  I spend most days of the week convincing myself or someone at home there is a reason to celebrate with cake
♥  I cannot stand (like seriously) queue jumping. I am practically hopping from left to right if there is no order and people do not wait their turn! Pah! No like-y.
♥  I hate the fact it always RAINS on bin day! Every Tuesday the bins go out and every Tuesday it is raining. #Fact
